Don't worry about "NOT SECURE" messages that may show up in the future when you open our Waggener63 web pages. Our hosting service (Class Creator) has requested we pay an additional $35/year in order to have them install a Secure Certificate for the Class Creator website to eliminate this message. We don't believe this extra expense is warranted at this time.
Virtual Mentoring Opportunity
Alumni friends, we have been given a wonderful opportunity to mentor students virtually. A group of very motivated sophomores are taking advantage of our College Now program. They are taking a history class through Western Kentucky University for college credit, all while doing their regular high school classes at home. We are still looking for 10 more mentors to encourage and support these incredible students. This can be done via zoom or the phone and one hour a week is the expectation. The great part about this opportunity is it can be done from anywhere! Please email or call me if you would like to participate or if you would like more information. The class started in January and will continue through May.
Thank you,

As announced before there is an easy online way to donate to the WHS Scholarship Fund. Go to the WHS Alumni website - http://www.waggeneralumni.com/class_index.cfm and on the right side of the Homepage is a "Donate" section. Click on Donate, put in the amount you'd like to donate, use either Pay Pal or Credit/Debit Card and fill in your appropriate information. It's easy and we will put your donation to good use.
In the next week or so we'll be announcing this years scholarship recipients so stay tuned for that.

Dear Fellow Waggener Alumni,
The Waggener Alumni Association has begun a scholarship program for deserving seniors who plan on attending college, a trade school, or enlisting in the military. The students complete an essay outlining their experiences at Waggener, what they will do with the scholarship, and why they feel they are deserving. The scholarships are $500 each and are decided upon by the WHS Alumni Board of Directors. Four scholarships were awarded this past May from funds donated by some anonymous alumni. This was our inaugural award and we need your help to improve and continue the program. We plan on using a contact person from each graduating class to get this message out to as many Waggener alumni as possible. Donations to the fund can be in any amount you feel comfortable with - and they are tax deducible. Every little bit helps and no amount is too small. - it all goes to a great cause. The initial donations last year ranged from $25 to $500.
We encourage all Alumni to participate in this program designed to help Waggener students advance their education - make your checks out to "Waggener Alumni Association" and add "Scholarship Fund Class of XX" in the memo line. We will track all donations by class. Mail checks to:

New program at Wellspring in memory of Kris Hansen
Kris Hansen was a much-loved staff member at Wellspring in Louisville. They provide mental health recovery & support through behavioral health, employment services and housing. The Hansen Intensive Program has been established by Wellspring in memory of Kris, thanks to a donation from her family. The program will target high-risk clients such as the homeless with serious mental health issues. Donations from our class in memory of Kris would be very helpful in supporting this new program. More information is available at their website: www.wellspringky.org
Their address is PO Box 1927, Louisville, KY 40201. Wellspring is a 501(c) (3) so donations are tax deductible.
