Nancy Maleia Tomes, age 79, passed away on November 18, 2024 in Louisville, Kentucky. Born on March 9, 1945, Nancy dedicated her life to the service of others through her work as a social worker, touching countless lives in her community.
Nancy completed her higher education at Middle Tennessee University, later earning two Master’s degrees in Education and Social Work from the University of Louisville. She retired from a fulfilling career at Seven Counties Services, where her compassion and commitment to social welfare made a significant impact.
She was a devoted member of the Jehovah’s Witness Kingdom Hall, where faith and community played a central role in her life.
Nancy was also passionate about her hobbies, which included knitting, sewing and crocheting, skills that she lovingly passed down to her family and friends.
She leaves her children behind:
Keith Tomes and his wife Betty,
Leigh Anne Tomes and her partner Paul Graber,
Sarah Boles, and her husband Jeremy.
Nancy also was a cherished grandmother to seven grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren, all of whom will miss her deeply.
Her memory will continue to inspire all who knew her, and her legacy of kindness and service will live on through her family and the many lives she touched.
